03/15/02 - The Brothers Site...

Other than updating the GREEN for You-know-what-day... I thought I would announce the grand opening of my brothers site!!! www.LarryandPatty.com is now open for business... Now I don't want to start loosing readers, but you can check here once in a while if you like... So far, I have webmastered the site (so the style will look familar, of course) and it resides on my inter-real-estate (my AT&T web space) but I will be handing this off as soon as I give LC&co the crash website course...

03/09/02 - Basketball Season Finale!

Caseys' last game of the basketball season was great! Especially for Casey. He scored 12 points and they won!! (no playoffs in this league). Check out the GAME PICTURES HERE (Casey likes the song in the background...)

(3/10) I've added a Real Audio version of the basketball game background music. One of our loyal readers (here at the Chapman page) just informed me that the MP3 (streaming) version took a long time... I'll have to work out the kinks in that I guess... Use whatever works best for you of course...

03/03/02 - A little Birthday Celebration..., In Like Lion!

One more quick update. I wanted to include a few of Corinnes birthday pictures. She had a nice little birthday sleepover with a few of her friends last night. They all had a great time! I also wanted to include the shot of our snow storm above... (you know, in like a lion)

Eye MAX... (IMAX) is awesome! I took Corinne to see the IMAX ve

03/02/02 - I- MAX... Just When You Think It's Safe...

Eye MAX... (IMAX) is awesome! I took Corinne to see the IMAX version of Beauty and the Beast yesterday (part of her birthday celebration). WOW. imax is cool! Even with cartoons... I would really like to see (and hear) a major (audio/video) movie in this format!!! Unfortunately, it seems like there is a limited selection at this point. Corinne liked it... but wasn't as amazed as I was (kids, these days! She saw a commercial and thought that it would be even bigger than it was... also it's just another technology to measure everything else against now... sheesh).

We (the whole family) followed up the imax movie with a Chuckie Cheeze visit and Corinne is having friends over tonight for more birthday stuff... She also got a good supply of loot (gifts) (I got her a copy of SIMS hot date that she requested (it's not as bad as it might sound...) I can't go through her entire gift listing here, but it was nice...)

Just when you think it's safe to come out of the cabin... I guess that I started writing about spring a little too early! We just got clobbered with another snow storm... Well, we had a nice break last week and this snow won't be around too long (I think...).

As you see... I just got a little more computer (page update) time, but now I gotta go... more later... stay tuned...

02/24/02 - Bike Odometers... Almost Spring... Basketball updates... Song update...

I was just about to move the bike odometer readings to the bottom of the page, since it is SO out of season... Then we got this warm weather and Casey started his new season milage count and I got new batteries for my odometer (officially set to zero now for the new season) and decided to start the season odometer readings!!! (I haven't actually started the official riding yet, but I got quite a record to beat for this year!

Well it's around 50 degrees today, so we're getting a nice little preview of spring! I was just shooting some hoop with Casey outside and Corinne and I took a long a rollerblading/walk. We also rigged up a homemade sailboat (just sticks mostly, but an official boat to us) and set it off for some official voyages... Nice outside fun!

Casey had 3 basketball games this weekend. Two of them were with his church league. They were play offs and they won the first which got them into the second game, then they lost the second so the season is over for that league now... (I was not real involved with this league (especially since most of the games were early Saturday mornings... and the last game was the only one that I saw... The team was really good and really into the game... it's just to bad that they lost).

The Park district league (the ones that I usually go to) played a really good team this week and lost also... :-( Their season is not over yet though! I know there is at least one more game and possibly more... Casey has really improved and is a major player on this team. The games are really entertaining (great playing) also!

Song creation update: It's been really hard finding the time (and inspiration) to create songs recently, but I do have a start on one. It will may take quite a while to actually get it out the door, but I have a start anyway... I also got my first CD shipment request from New York (state) this week...

Sorry for the update delay once again... I guess I made up for a little with the fairly long update... (I have also archived more text from the page so it should speed up a little for a while (once again)) Stay tuned!

02/02/02 - , Great Snow, J&B Decorating and Dog-sleddin....

Yep, it's SuperBowl weekend... I don't really care about the game much (sheesh, that might be considered anti-american or politically incorrect or something... Oh well...) but I am planning to watch for the commercials and the entertainment!

Trivia: I just realized this year that someone in our family always turns the same age as the SuperBowl number each year (XXXVI (36)) (unless they skip a year or have 2 in 1 year or something...). Do you know who it is? The winner will receive the official e-prize. Know anyone else that qualifies???

We got some Great Snow Thursday (and a lot of it!). The kids had a snow day. The thing that was so cool was that the snow was so wet and heavy (and sticky) that it was the best packing snow that I ever remember! Just grab a handful and wha-la you got an instant snowball... Roll a snowball for 1 minute and you got a 3 or 4 foot snowman base... It was incredible! The kids had a great time making forts and we had a few snowball fights... (I took my house-in-the-snow picture down a little too soon, I guess...)

JBDecorating: The ISP (ATT Cable/Excite) for my first official Pagemouse customer, changed all of their web hosting and email services a while back and we just got the J and B Decorating page back on the air. The site is now located at: http://home.attbi.com/~jbdec/ . We haven't gotten the www.JBDecorating.com domain name changed yet though. Check it out... Especially if you live around here and need some painting or related services done...

Epilog: This just in... Caseys Basketball team won today... and Corinne and I did a little "dog-sledding"... I was the dog! :-( :-( We were checking out the snow slipperieness and I ended up pulling Corinne around in the sled (with a rope) on the bike trail. It was great exercise for me, and Corinne enjoyed the ride...

It's colder now, so if the snow has turned slippery, we may go sledding again today...

I am trying to mentally prepare for working again on Monday... I don't feel ready, but I suppose that I will show up and loose my official lazy bum status... for now anyway...

Gotta Go, More later... Stay Tuned...

01/27/02 - Springtime, IceBergs, Possums, Off to work again...

Wow! Sixties in January! A Chicago heatwave! Last week we were ice skating, this week Corinne was rollerblading (whilst I walked...). One interesting thing was that the snow fort that we made last week, on the Ice, where we shoveled, was still there!!! the ice had melted around the snow fort / iceberg, but the mound of snow was still there!

So as you look out on the mostly melted lake, there is this Iceberg (mound of snow)! It looked pretty cool... (yet warm :-) )

... and in other news... This just in... I will be back to work again Monday the 4'th. Consulting again, for Caremark again but more independently through a headhunter (for a 5 month contract) rather than as an employee of a consulting company. I think that I would have rather had an employee position this time around, but as far as consulting goes, I would rather have the set up that I have this time. This will allow me to stay in the computer world for now (I was considering another line of work) and maybe things will be better in 5 months... Once again, only time will tell...

I took the drug test last week... I studied all night and they didn't ask me one drug question!!! :-) :-) :-) (my standard drug test joke). Anyway, I tried to stay off the crack and heroine for a few days to pass the test... :-) :-) (not all musicians are drug addicts, of course (maybe most, but not all :-) :-) ) people think that I am on drugs anyway... What's up with that? :-) )

...Or is it Opossums... I almost forgot the possum story. I was at my friend Dales house last night and as I was leaving there were 2 possums under my car... One waddled away before I got in and I didn't know about the other. So I started the car and looked. Still no possum running out... I slowly back out and there the little critter is just hangin out (playing possum, I guess), then after a minute or two, the lazy critter decides it's time to move on...

Later... Goin rollerblading again now...

01/20/02 - Sledding... NO School tomorrow!

Casey, Corinne, Kyle and I just went out to Deer Grove for some sledding... It was great!!! The snow was a little on the light side (some bare areas), but there was enough for decent sledding. The temperature was around 30, sunny and no wind... It was just real nice to be outside on a nice winter day sleding...

We had a saucer, and plastic roll-up type sled and a plastic 2 kid style sled. It was a nice variety, so we could switch off and do lots of different stuff!

Not much else to report... (except no school tomorrow) (I'm off too. (like the last 5 months!! :-) :-) )

01/06/02 - More Sliding... School tomorrow!

Just got a moment for an update... Casey, Corinne and I did some more skating today. We had a light dusting of snow, but it was still good skating, there were just lots of tracks in the fresh snow. It was warmer also, so it was really nice.

Well, the kids Christmas vacation is over in a few hours now... I'm sure that they can't wait to get back to school :-) :-) As for me, it will help get us back to the regular routine again... As I said, I will be doing a major job search push this week...

That's it for now... We are on our way out to dinner with Dara's mom now (Fridays). Gotta go... later...

01/01/02 - Happy New Year!!! Ice, Greece, Songpuppy and Tulsa... (more corrections per DK)

Sorry for the delay, of course... I hope you all had a nice Christmas and New Year... I haven't had a lot of time for page updates, but I did some updates to the SongPuppy site yesterday... (check it out, it's a little more interesting/fun).

Casey, Corinne and I did some Ice Skating yesterday (last year) (yes I corrected the spelling of "skating", Andi! I have spelled that wrong so many times that I must spell it right another 100 or so times before it sinks in and becomes natural... JJ ) We skated out on "Chapman Lake" behind the house. After the kids got worn out/cold I did some skating on my own (for exersize). I think that skating might actually be more work/exercise than running!!!

I spotted a coupla other people out on the lake (just walking) and skated over to talk to them. They had English accents but it turned out that they were from Greece... They said it was snowing there when they left... I couldn't imagine snow in Greece... Ah well, live and learn...

As for Tulsa... I've had my 4'th CD request from Tulsa. It appears that they like my music in Tulsa better than Sri Lanka and India (it's much easier to mail them there too!)!!! I've had a few CD requests from Texas also. I'll have to do a southwest tour one of these days!!!

I don't really know the demographics (age, etc.) of those requesting the CDs (judging by the names it is mostly females), but I am grateful that the music is appreciated. The CDs and postage are cheap (on a small scale, of course), and it is definitely worth it for the enhanced encouragement, confidence and motivation. I really got to get a start on that next song!!!

I am planning on a major job search push now that the holidays are pretty much over. Unemployement benefits are running out. I don't really think that the freelance web site stuff is significant enough so I will focus on day job stuff again. I am hoping to stay with computer work, but I am really starting to wonder if I will be doing my next career move soon... I guess we will just have to wait and see what the future will bring...

Well, there' s brief update anyway... stop by again soon. I will try to do better on the ol updates (as most of you know, I love doing the updates when I can!)
