7/8/01 - Oh yea... It's Cool!
Well Larry made it over here Saturday (just in time!!!) and finished up the A/C! It was about as humid as it can get, I think, on Saturday (other than being inside a cloud), and hot of course, so when we got everything finished and fired it up... wow... First of all, it felt great of course. Then I noticed that the house itself was so happy it was crying (the windows steamed up). Then when I wnet outside my glasses fogged up!!!! I was giving it a pretty good work out and had it set at 70 degrees, and like I said it was just so humid outside that is what it did... I've turned it up a few degrees now...
I helped with the things that I could, like feeding the copper lines into the house and fetching tools and food and stuff :-). But I did learn a few things (which is always a good thing). Aside from really seeing how the A/C works, soldering the lines, etc. I observed something that can be applied to so many different things (like songwriting, programming, working on things in general or even dealing with people)... and that is....
Attention to Detail
Yep, he did a great job, down to some of the
smaller details (like patching the house where the lines come up
with sheet metal (that matches the siding) AND sealer.. etc. It
is working great, and I expect that it will for many years now...
Thanks again bro!
Well, the only other thing that I really did this weekend was working on the next song. Got a decent start on it, then ran into a bunch of frustrating and time consuming problems, but it's on track again (literally).
Oh yea, The kids had quite a busy time visiting with Nadia (and Dara visiting with Karen) also. I just wasn't over there this weekend so I can't really write about that, of course (except second hand)... Karen and Nadia have left for Minnasota today (Sunday).
Well that's the news for now... More later (as usual)...
7/5/01 - It's Summer alright...
Sorry, I got a little behind on my page updates with everything that has been going on so far this summer.
First, a followup to the article below... Casey's
team lost the next 2 games so they are out of the playoffs now
:-( :-(
But... We still have that memory (below) from
the playoffs!!! :-) :-)
Casey also had a very nice birthday (thanks everyone for the cards (custom and storebought)!) One of the things that we did once again (10 years in a row) was Santa's Village. Casey is 11 now and still had a great time! There is still stuff for the older kids (although Corinne wanted to stay longer than Casey). Nadia (my neice) came with us this time also, and had a great time. All 3 of them did the Typhoon this year (that's SV's roller coaster). I did a spinning ride and decided that I'm not doing spinning rides anymore... We also did the petting zoo, horse rides, magic show and Casey and Corinne got picked (from a raffle) to be on stage for a kids game show type of thing...
Karen (Dara's sister) and Nadia are in town (from Minn.) and Dara and the kids are there now (which is one reason why I have a little time to get an update in...). We had a great time at Dara's moms house on the 4'th (Shoot I didn't get the flag pictures and fireworks on my page!!! Ah well... gotta do that real life thing too you know...).
Larry (my bro) and I started putting in our new Air Conditioner last week, then found that we had a broken (plastic) part on the A-Coil. Bummer!!! Still no A/C. Waiting for the part... I did the unskilled labor (leveling the ground for the a/c thing that goes outside) and Lar did the skilled labor (of course).
I think that's it for now... (actually I just thought of a few more things, but I'll spare ya'all for now) I gotta go... it's getting late!!! see ya'all soon...
6/28/01 - Casey at Bat...
I just HAD to do a mid-week update with an an update from Casey's first playoff game (Real "Family Page" News...). Well they won! So they are still in the playoffs and the team played really well.
The big news of course is Casey at the Bat! (way better ending than the poem though).
Caseys up...
Foul ball... (strike one)...
Tipped one... (that means 2 strikes you know...)...
His teammates are cheering him on... (Go Casey!!! Go Casey!!!... Gimmie a "C"... gimmie an "A"... etc...) All eyes are on Casey (this is the playoffs you know...) His dad appears to be very nervous...
The pitch...
Casey BLASTS one to right/center field!!!
A great hit! Made it to second! Then another great hit (inspired by Casey, I'm sure) and 2 runs score (Casey and another)... The rest is just history...
Now, how's that for an all american family page classic? Baseball..., Dara was there too of course (Mom, that is)... Now... I think I'll go see if we got some apple pie!!!
